RG31
Tilehurst, Calcot, Kentwood and Little Heath
Tilehurst sits on a hill and that fact runs through every job in this postcode.
Steep gradients mean cars are parked on slopes far more often than not, and a slope changes how a wheel comes off — chocks first, jack on a solid flat pad, nothing rushed. Kentwood and the upper roads are the steepest of it. Down at Calcot the A4 retail parking gives the usual returning-shopper flats, along with kerb damage from tight bays and high concrete edges. Little Heath keeps its lane feel with flint in the verges and blind bends. Older tarmac on the hill roads breaks up along the gutter line and takes rims with it.
Parked on a hill: do not let anyone sit in the car while it is jacked. We will move it to a flat stretch if there is one nearby.
