Whitley, Green Park, Shinfield and the stadium end

South of the river and either side of the motorway junction. RG2 is business park, stadium and new-build estate.

Green Park and Kennet Island are modern developments with barrier parking, undercroft bays and a lot of company cars on low-profile tyres. Undercrofts are dark and tight and the pillars are exactly where you want to put a jack, so we plan that before we arrive. Around the stadium a match empties several thousand cars into the same exit at once. Shinfield and Arborfield are on the change — building traffic everywhere, which reliably means nails and screws in treads. The M4 junction drops fast traffic onto local roads carrying debris.

Undercroft or barrier parking needs a fob or a name at the gate. Sort it while we are on the phone, not when we get there.
