Central Reading — decks, the IDR and the station

Town centre work. In RG1 almost every job is in a multi-storey, on a red route or in a permit bay, and that shapes how we do it.

The Oracle and Broad Street Mall decks are the two biggest sources — a full day's parking, a wheel down on the rim, and a car that cannot go anywhere. We fit in decks routinely; low ceilings are fine, sloped bays need boards. Around the station the parking is stacked and the turnover is constant, and a car blocking a lane there gets noticed quickly. The Royal Berkshire runs the clock round like every hospital on this patch. Coley, Katesgrove and Newtown are terraced streets with permit parking, kerbs everywhere, and cracked alloys as a matter of routine.
