A perished valve, sorted without a full tyre
Not every flat is a nail. Rubber valve stems crack, especially on cars that sit. If the tyre is legal and the leak is the stem, we change the valve and put the same tyre back on. If the tyre is finished anyway, we say so and do the full job.

- We confirm it is the valve before we pull the wheel
- Sensor valves on TPMS cars are a different part — we price that honestly
- Caps and cores are not a repair if the stem is split
- If all four stems are the same age we will say if doing one is a waste
What people ask
The cap was missing. Is that the leak?
Usually not. Caps keep dirt out. The leak is the core or the stem. We will test it rather than sell you a handful of caps.
I have sensors in the wheels.
Then it may be a sensor valve, not a pound-shop stem. Tell us the car. A cheap stem on a sensor wheel is how you end up with a light on the dash.
Can you do it while I wait?
Yes. A valve is a short job when the tyre is coming off anyway. Night call-outs for a slow stem are better booked for the morning if the car still holds air.
