RG21

Basingstoke town centre and the ring road

Basingstoke is the far south-west corner of what we cover. The town centre is ring road and multi-storey, and the work reflects that.

The ring road roundabouts are big, fast and constantly loaded, which scrubs shoulders off tyres quicker than people expect. Black Dam in particular gathers debris in the gutter line. Festival Place and the surrounding decks are where most of the calls come from — a full day's parking and a wheel found flat on return. Deck bays are tight and the surface is painted, so we bring boards rather than trust it. Basing View and Houndmills are business and industrial with HGV movements and the sharp debris that comes with loading yards. Kings Furlong and Eastrop are residential with permit kerbside parking.

Multi-storey: level, bay number and which stairwell. A big deck swallows time if we are hunting a car.
