Newbury — racecourse, retail park, and the A34 through it

The far west of the patch. Newbury is a long drive from Virginia Water and we will not pretend otherwise on the phone.

The A34 runs north to south through the district carrying heavy freight, and the debris off it is the coarse kind — banding, bolts, shredded truck rubber that goes through a car tyre rather than sticking in it. Nothing repairable comes out of that. In town the parking is decked around Kennet Shopping and flat at the retail park, both easy to work in. Race days fill the racecourse approach and the verges alongside it, and cars driven onto wet grass come off with rims full of mud and sometimes worse. Shaw, Speen, Donnington and Wash Common are residential with older kerbs and steady nail work.

Long run for us, so the call matters more than usual. Car, tyre size off the sidewall, and exactly where it is standing.
