Shepperton, the Hallifords and the studio roads

Shepperton sits in a loop of the river and the roads reflect it. Everything bends, nothing is wide, and half of it is residents-only parking.

Around Shepperton Studios the working traffic is vans and unit vehicles that do short hops all day, kerb hard against the wall and pick up damage on the inner sidewall where you never see it until it lets go. Lower Halliford and Upper Halliford are the same story with older tarmac — the bend through Halliford is patched, ridged and unkind to low-profile tyres. Littleton and Charlton are lane country: hedge one side, ditch the other, and a nail-strewn verge outside anywhere with building work on.
